In light of recent severe weather conditions, Rumpke Waste & Recycling has announced the suspension and delay of trash collection services in the Greater Dayton area this week. According to a company representative, this decision was not made lightly but was necessary to ensure the safety of both their employees and the public.
On Monday, trash and recycling pickups were halted entirely due to unsafe conditions. However, there is a plan in place to resume operations as soon as weather conditions improve. Rumpke has indicated that if the roads become passable, they will implement a one-day delay for collections throughout the rest of the week.
Residents are advised to leave their trash and recycling at the curb, as Rumpke intends to make every effort to continue with service later this week. "We prioritize the safety of our team members, our customers, and those on the road," said Kevyn Vasquez, the operations manager. "Our aim is to collect waste from Monday’s route on Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday, and so forth, with Friday’s pickups occurring on Saturday."
