Read cross America (Dr. Seuss Birthday)

We have another opportunity to partner with Bethesda Elementary School.  March 2nd is Read Across America Day. If you are ready, willing and able to spread literacy, we have a morning (or afternoon) for you! Bethesda Elementary is in need of adult volunteers who would enjoy reading aloud to our students. We can use ten or more volunteers, but would need to spread times out a bit.

A large number of our students are in a duel – language (DLI) program. If you have some Spanish – speaking readers, we have classrooms where they will be most welcome. If Spanish readers are unavailable, we will be happy for English readers.

Reading sessions are planned for 20 minutes with a 5 minute transition between classes. We will have eleven reading times spread throughout the day. These reading times are loosely divided into three time blocks of two and a half hours each. There will be a hospitality station and a continental breakfast for our volunteers.

You may contact Mr. Brown direct to schedule a reading time.  Thank you in advance.
