Agape Meeting – Tuesday, March 13

Please come out on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 and join Bethesda's UMW Agape Circle as we welcome Chris Church to present a program about Freedom From Bondage, Women's Recovery Residence. They are located in Athens, GA and work with women as they embark on the road to recovery from alcohol and/or drugs. They welcome donations of toilet paper, paper towels, twin sheet sets, pillows, and comforters. If you have any questions, please contact Bev Hombroek.

Bethesda’s Best – Thursday, March 15, noon

Bethesda’s Best will meet in the Fellowship Hall on March 15th at 12 o’clock noon. Please bring a dish to share for our pot luck lunch. We will have a guest speaker, Ann Gagnir, of the Georgia Public Library Service. Please join us as we continue the New Year and look at other things we want to do and places we want to visit. Let’s make the most of 2018!

Easter Eggstravaganza 2018!

Join us at Bethesda United Methodist Church as we welcome our whole community to our Best Easter Eggstravaganza Ever! Saturday, March 24 - 2-4pm Invite your friends and join us as we visit with the Easter Bunny! Toofpik the Clown will be sharing his Balloon Art with everyone! There will be food, games, crafts, blow-up slide and much, much more! Don't forget to bring your Easter basket for the egg hunt!

Lenten Offering – Change for Change

Make sure to pick up your container from Lynn Moncrief and each day during the Lenten season place your pocket change in it. Beginning Ash Wednesday and ending Easter Sunday we will be collecting your change to help make some changes to people's lives. All funds given for the Lenten Offering will benefit Village of Hope.

Bethesda's Best Upcoming meetings Bethesda’s Best will meet in the Fellowship Hall on January 18th at 12 o’clock noon.  Please bring a dish to share for our pot luck lunch.  We will have a guest speaker, Ann Gagnir, of the Georgia Public Library Service.  Please join us as we start the New Year and look at other things we want to do and places we want to visit. UMW Geographic Mission Study – January 27 – 9am-2pm

All are invited (both men and women) to the UMW Geographic Mission Study:   Missionary Conferences of The United Methodist Church in the U.S. A. When: Saturday, January 27, 2018         9am- 2pm Where: Harmony Grove UMC in Pollard Hall            Speaker: Scarlet Hammersmith Join us to find out what we can do to help these three struggling missionary conferences: Alaska, Red Bird (Kentucky), and Oklahoma Indian conferences. We will take a love offering for the Red Bird Mission. Mother-Daughter Banquet – Thursday, January 25th – 6:30 pm

Women of Bethesda you are invited to the 2018 Mother-Daughter Covered Dish Banquet! Thursday, January 25th at 6:30 pm in the Bethesda UMC Fellowship Hall All women are invited! Bring your mother, your daughter, a friend or ALL of them! Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share. A fun evening has been planned by the UMW Outreach Circle! The entertainment will be provided by members of the Aurora Theater.

Jan. 10th Program Kick-Off – Bethesda’s Funniest Home Videos!

Your 1-2 minute videos are needed! Please email them to the church office at athelmorris@bethesdaunited.org. This is the time to let your family, children, pets, and even yourself have that 1-2 minutes of 'fame'! The more videos we receive the more fun - so please get your videos in soon!    

BUMC Funniest Home Videos! January 10th Kick-off for 2018

Bethesda’s Funniest Videos – January 10th is our kick-off for Wednesday Night Dinner and Programs. This year’s theme is “Bethesda’s Funniest Videos”.  We need your help in gathering these. If you have any short (1-2 minutes long) videos of family members, church members or friends, please e-mail them to the church office.  It’s so easy to do a short video on your phone and e-mail to Athel at athelmorris@bethesdaunited.org

Choir Cantata – December 10th – 11:00am

  Please join the Bethesda Chancel Choir as we celebrate the 2017 Christmas Season through verse and song. Our Cantata this year is entitled "Sing Joy to All the World" and will start at 11 A.M. Sunday, December 10th in the Church Sanctuary under the direction of Miles Gaultney. Bring your family and friends for a wonderful start to your Christmas celebrations!

Get Ready for the First Small Group of 2018!

Join us for the FIRST SMALL GROUP STUDY OF 2018! You’re invited to join Pastor Dana in this thought provoking, cutting edge four-week dvd study: Way of Life, A Study Based on The Great Spiritual Migration: How the World’s Largest Religion Is Seeking a Better Way to Be Christian by Brian McClaren. Begins Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Cost for book and Participant Guide: $20. Order through the church office by Wednesday, January 3rd.

Santa Supper – December 16 at 5:00pm

Saturday, December 16 – 5:00pm – Santa Supper (Fellowship Hall) Hamburgers with Santa is provided by the United Methodist Men. Santa will be making his annual appearance for all children to visit with him personally. All are welcome so invite a friend!

November Mission Project

November is all about giving thanks. One way Bethesda UMC is giving thanks is by giving our support to Village of Hope in their Christian outreach ministry to the homeless in our community. We will be collecting food items that will be delivered to Village of Hope the week of Thanksgiving. Items needed: Canned meats, canned fruit and canned pasta WITH pop tops. Also needed are microwave meals. Drop off boxes will be at the entrances of the Fellowship Hall, Sanctuary and Chapel

Bethesda UMC Fall Festival Thank you!

On Sunday, October 29 we hosted our own Bethesda Fall Festival. What a great time - in spite of the cold and wind! Thank you to all who volunteered your time, your gifts and your love of Christ and Bethesda UMC. We are a wonderful beacon of love on this hill!

Submissions for Advent Devotional Booklet needed

UMW is creating a 2017 Advent Devotional for Advent and beyond. We need your devotions so we can include them in this booklet. Your devotion will make a difference in someone's day as they read and pray throughout 2017 Advent and beyond. A short personal writing, favorite scripture, or a poem/song - whatever you choose. Please turn in your submission to Bev Hombroek (beverly@multiplebenefits.com) or Ginny Hollum by October 31st.
