Bethesda celebrates the appointment of Rev. Dr. Mike Long as the District Superintendent of the Atlanta-Emory District of the United Methodist church.
Members and Friends of Bethesda: You are invited to attend the installation service for our new District Superintendent, the Rev. Dr. Mike Long. The service will be August 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Lawrenceville First UMC, 395 W Crogan St, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 .
On July 30th Fifth Sunday Worship in Song - combined service at 10:30 in the Sanctuary. The Praise Team, the Chancel Choir, and the children's choir be singing some of your favorite songs, and Miles will be leading some of your favorite hymns. DESSERT BEFORE LUNCH! That's right! Immediately following Worship in Song service. Everyone is invited to the Fellowship Hall! Everyone loves ice cream and this is the best time of year to enjoy it with friends.
Please continue to collect and donate all your clean plastic shopping bags. These bags are used to create sleeping mats and will be donated to Village of Hope in Lawrenceville. Christmas in July? Not quite! We are starting to anticipate the excitement of the season though. United Methodist Women - Agape Circle is beginning work on a 2017 Advent and Go Forth Daily Devotional booklet. We are in need of 35 short stories, poems, favorite scripture, etc. This would allow for a personal daily devotion for each day of Advent through Epiphany. If you have any questions or would like to submit an item please see Bev Hombroek or Martha Gordon. The deadline to submit your item is November 1st. Gwinnett Relay For Life 2017 may have been a rain-out just a few hours into the event but the spirits of our team were not dampened! We celebrated the survivors on our team and in our church family. Our booth not only brought joy to many through our Crazy Hair styles and Crazy Hat fashions but we raised money to benefit the American Cancer Society.
